Darwin

We found a classical sculpture within one of the condemned buildings that was very curious, indeed.

So what's the story of Darwin? Are the fittest really surviving? Is this a crackhead refuge? and art colony? a retirement park?

I hear there's a 4th of July Parade. Anybody want to bring a float?

    Jennifer,
I was in Darwin week before last ... it's for more derelict than I had imagined. I must admit, though, that all those little miner homes, like ducks in a row, begged for habitation. Maybe Jim should look into a permanent home for BORG2 and we could all chip in and buy the site.
Good to see you last week.
Hope life is going well for you.

I went to Darwin a couple times and met a few of the very interesting folks that live there. Basically retired construction workers from Monterey that couldn't afford to live there on retirement. There are about 30 folks living there now, 2 on the old mining town (yes, is up for sale!), they are incredibly self-sufficient and helped me lots when I had a flat tire with no spare...
